| Billerbahn Tin Steam Locos - clockwork | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| All locos on this page have the old version axle cover. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This green steam engine was issued in
1953 and was No. 2 in the assortment. Available only with the flat switch. All
were marked "500" in front of the doors. The simple Biller-B
was printed onto the coal box - underneath the coal box it says "Made in U.S.-Zone Germany". The printing plate shown in the line above for the catalogs and advertising leaflets reached me at the end of 2023 in an auctioned bundle - together with the printing plates for the 510 tipping wagon and the 521 baggage wagon. The chimney and the steam cylinders were either made of brass (1st Version only) - later made of aluminium. And both parts are the same - the brass was pressed - later the aluminium was lathed. Same applies to the below listed locos of the 1500 series. The shown sequence is taken to be the timely sequence the locos were built. All those who need a green spare clockwork for the 500: Please note that the 013 Diesel clockwork does NOT fit, because the on top clockwork cover has different seize and shape - even though looking very similar. Most probably same applies to bright green and red clockworks. Click here to see a picture showing the difference. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1st version: green clockwork cover, roof dark grey, brass chimney and brass steam cylinders. Sometimes having a small hole behind the front axle (this one has) - sometimes not. |
2nd version: There were also versions having a brass smoke stack and aluminium
		  steam cylinders
      | | | 3rd version: As described above - now having aluminium smoke stack and aluminium steam cylinders | 4th version: bright green clockwork cover, roof
dark grey, chimney and steam cylinders made of aluminium | | | | 5th version: bright green clockwork cover, roof light grey,
chimney and steam cylinders made of aluminium - darker green on the
switch and smoke stack | 6th version: bright green clockwork cover, roof
light grey, chimney and steam cylinders made of aluminium - unique
colours | | | | 7th version: red clockwork cover, roof light grey,
chimney and steam cylinders made of aluminium. This version - as well as other versions do - shows different green
shades of cabin and boiler. | Lithography of the 500
          from the rear | | | | first edition 500 in
the original box incl. key | displaying the different grey shades of
the roof | | | | and here is version No. 7 with an unpainted
clockwork. And this unpainted clockwork is not a unique piece, I have
at least one more of them. | | | The black 500 | | This loco was as well offered in a
BLACK version (see price list 1958
			- page 4 and 1960 - page 3). The cabin
inscription is 1500 and the clockwork cover is bright green.

Available (1957 ?) 1958 - 1960. | The holes on the rear of the cabin are
			- for sure - empty. The cabin rear shows the Biller-B and "Made in
Western Germany" - thus NO holes for the 013 diesel hood - see
			at the 1500 E. | | | | This version shows a red clockwork cover | | | | This version shows a red clockwork cover and the coal
box | | | | The green 500 M .... | | | ... was a 500 equipped with two MÄRKLIN-couplings to be used as clockwork loco on MÄRKLIN layouts (see price list 1960). The body is green and the roof light grey - clockwork cover is bright green. |

In APR 09 another loco with
the bright green clockwork "appeared". The picture shows the couplings as received - and after restoration in June 2009. So far only 8 locos of this version known - one of
them in the USA. | | | The black 500 M ...... | | | I found this first listed engine in FEB 2017 - having a bright green clockwork cover. I consider this version the earlier one!!! | | | | This engine is already listed since NOV 2012 - and was delivered with
		  a red clockwork housing | | | | 66% of the known 500 M's standing together | and finally the box for the green 500 M | | | | | generated: JAN-10-2003 | last update:
